recipes of HOPE
manifesto
To be humanKINDER is to recognise cultural belonging as an
Universal Human Right.
We understand cultural belonging through three relationships :
with ourselves
knowing who we are
remembering where we’re from
honouring our stories
with each other
trusted communities
hospitality
shared experiences
with the living world
landscape
food & music
mountains & rivers
Our process weaves together four interconnected movements :
acknowledge our history
We cannot build belonging without understanding how it has been broken. Context matters.
build a stage for herstory
We create spaces where silenced voices can be heard and celebrated.
We recognise the importance of autonomy, choice and equity of expression.
ask questions about our shadows
We remain curious and critical about power, privilege, silence, bias;
our own as well as others’.
never forget to dance
We process, we celebrate, we reset and begin again.
Joy in celebration is not separate from justice.
Joy is evidence that justice is possible
