The way I saw human beings being forced to exist in Calais Refugee Camp in 2015, compelled me to quit my job leading the first Social Innovation Lab in UK government.

In August 2016, I founded humanKINDER, but I was hesitant to define exactly what humanKINDER needed to be and how it was to operate, without a deeper understanding of this rapidly changing world.

So in August 2017, I left the UK with my family. We travelled for a year in our van with The Welcome Tent, volunteering and collaborating with the humanitarian community across Europe to discover what was and is really happening to welcome displaced people into Europe.
